Loose daffodils

Sometimes the hardest thing about painting with watercolors is leaving white space and "unfinished" brushstrokes. Being loose and "messy" is actually really hard to do. The only advice I have is to just do it...sounds like a commercial, but there really isn't anything you can do short of someone forcing the brush out of your hand or just walking away from you painting. Try it sometime, walk away and see how those strokes dry and remember don't overwork...(mud anyone?) I'll see you all towards the end of next week...a short blogging break...

Your words strike home for me with my watercolor efforts. I also struggle with the very things you've said. Anyway, this painting of daffs is truly beautiful!

This really is lovely, Annelein! So pretty, and abstract, but recognizable.

the daffodils make me feel that spring can't get here soon enough!

Molto delicato questo lavoro. Mi immagino farfalle che tentano con fatica di alzarsi in volo al di sopra della distesa bianca che le tiene prigioniere. Ammiro spesso i tuoi acquerelli, sei davvero brava! Ciao.
