hollyhocks

To continue on the "unfinished" theme...here's one from this summer...but never saw the stamp of "done" approval...there's hope still. Didn't find as many blooming hollyhocks to photograph this year...bummer...I hear they self sow like crazy once they are established.

It's gorgeous, Annelein....I think you need to put on those final touches and hang it somewhere to warm you this winter.

Lovely hollies! Yes, they self sow very easily and will choke out other flowers, too.

Beautiful and striking! They're a lovely color. On Monhegan Island, there is a large patch of black ones! Not the most striking color for flowers, but certainly a favorite subject among the artists gathered there to paint.
