Staging references

Perusing old photographs to come up with portraits is what I've been up to....It's hard to find pictures that are not "posed" and the subjects are not in full smile mode...That is one of my goals this year...to take reference pictures that are less staged and folks aren't looking directly into the camera!

Love those candid shots, too. Fun to take lots of pics in public then peruse them and isolate parts to see what you captured. Since it's snowing again here sound like fun going through those old photographs you had to get developed at the pharmacy. I know my grandson would love to go through his old pictures with me again. Thanks for the idea!
Your painting is great.

I always prefer photo's and paintings to be 'unposed' and this is just perfect!

I so love how you handled the background...and overlayment on this piece, Annelein. If you are doing a portrait series, I'd say there are going to be some lucky people being immortalized!
