Vermont...outside the studio

When the weather warms and the leaves start to fill in on the trees some artists are itching to get outside to paint (some paint all year even in winter!) I have only sporadically been one of these artists...but resolved this year to step up my game a bit! So first day out several weeks ago and this is the result...in oils...on canvas...painted en Plein Air...Alla prima...while braving some fierce wind....stay tuned for more postings about my outings...I’m excited....you want to follow along?

Beautiful painting Annelein. Looks like it could have been painted in my part of the world. Have a super day.

Love this painting. I have yet to get out and do my first one for this year. I really like your colours, what are your choices for en plein air? Looking forward to seeing more outdoor work.
Regards,
Karen

Thanks for your comments! As for colors...I usually have a warm and cool of each primary....like a cad red and rose madder, a lemon yellow and cad yellow med and an ultra blue and cobalt or cerulean...I also have a tube color called “sky blue”...very convenient! Maybe a yellow ochre...some white and that’s about it....happy painting!
