I guess with today's post it's officially rooster/chicken week! This guy might look familiar...I took several pictures of this guy inside his dark barn, so I know I've painted and posted him before. Backlighting is never easy...it makes the features disappear. What to name this guy? Hmmmm. anyone?

Very beautifully done.The painting is bright inspite of the dark tones of the rooster!
I really appreciate how you give a personality to each of the chickens/roosters you paint! Cannot tell from your painting that you didn't have a good reference pic -goes to show how well you have mastered your art.
Maybe call him Hank. Beautifully rendered!
Backlighting is a bit tricky but this came out great.
The grasses beyond this fellow are sublime, Annelein. Gorgeous portrait of a find and cocky fellow!
