I used to shy away from painting white flowers, because I just love color...but it's amazing how much pigment you can sneak into a "white" flower shadow and the negative spaces.
This is gorgeous!!! And so true- its so much to fun to paint white in watercolors as its never truly 'white' and we can sneak in any color -and make it cool or warm :)
Gorgeous, Annelein. You really have got a lot of color in the flower, but without losing the feeling that it's white (which is the problem I always have with white flowers). This is really stunning work!
Funny you were talking about colors in the whites in this entry...My first thought was just how beautiful these colors are and how gorgeously they enhance the whiteness of the blossom itself!
I think you have pulled this off beautifully Annelein. I find white flowers challenging, but this is exceptional and those colours are beautifully fresh! A real eye catcher!

I was finally able to view the peony. The centre of the flower is truly beautiful... fantastic!
