Studio birds

Trying to revisit some favorite subjects and reinvigorate my studio practices....if you find yourself out and about you can safely visit Furchgott and Sourdiffe Gallery in Shelburne and find my work back on their walls for a group show. This painting however is still not ready to fly my studio coop!

Inktober with tdac

I’ve been following an online prompt list by They Draw and Cook of their own version of Inktober. I’m filling a watercolor sketchbook page every day with many different food related items. It’s been fun to continue a theme and come up with these layouts. I’m posting them every day on Instagram...if you have a chance check out all the unique takes from so many varied artists!

outside fun

Had a nice outing last Sunday with a few members of the Vermont Watercolor Society and we had a Plein Air session! It felt great to get outside and do some painting and chatting! It’ll get tougher as we head for colder temps! Lake Champlain from Charlotte Beach. 11”x15”

color your autumn

Hello everyone...I hope this finds you well and staying safe. I’ve been trying to stay creative in order to occupy my mind and my hands...sometimes that’s not easy to do..but galleries are open in Vermont and I’m working on framing some new work to get them out there and on display! Also as you can see by the picture my card sets on Etsy are still available and ready for you to send some color to a loved one. Here in Vermont the fall leaves are putting on quite a show! 🍁

Land & Light & Water & Air

My painting “Fading Farm” is on exhibit at the Bryan Gallery in Jeffersonville for their “Land & Light & Water & Air” group show.
I dropped off another painting for the show and that sold within 10 minutes while it was leaning against the wall! So if you click the link you will see that painting in the show preview. The above painting replaced that one....

Mixed media

This is my painting “Spring came Regardless” that is part of the Stay home/Stay Safe group show at the Firehouse Gallery until October 10. All pieces are for sale for $250.00 and measure 24”x36”. Mine is a mixed media acrylic abstract. Here is the link to the show with recordings of the artists describing their work. I went last week to check it out and it is an interesting mix of work on a common theme. You can see the show from the comfort of your home, because there is a virtual link as well!

Paint on!

It is officially summer and the hazy, hot and humid days that go along with that are also officially here! So watering gardens is a priority as is watering myself by staying hydrated. This cosmos piece was done as my demo during my Plein Air watercolor workshop from a couple weeks ago. Painting outside in hot weather with a mask on is certainly a new experience, but it is possible..so keep wearing those masks and paint on! πŸ–ŒπŸŽ¨

landscape imagination

Hello all! Here’s a colorful imagined landscape to wish you a good weekend and Memorial Day. The weather is supposed to be nice here in Vermont and the sunshine is certainly a mood booster. I need to repack my Plein Air painting bags (one for oil and one for watercolor) and head out there sometime soon.
 Be well.

Painting muse

I have found my painting enthusiasm has dwindled a bit as of late...I guess that’s okay..maybe my muse will stop by sometime soon again...in the mean time I have been sending my cards around to my retail Co Op stores as they are selling for Mother’s Day and general note sending...and for that I’m grateful. Wishing you a safe and healthy weekend to honor your Mothers.

My galleries remain closed, but I’m happy that I can provide some snail mail sets for your correspondence or gifting needs.

Click the link here to go to my Etsy store.

...and when galleries reopen...stop in to visit ArtHound Gallery in Essex, Artisans’ Gallery in Waitsfield, Frog Hollow Vermont Craft Gallery in Burlington, Boulder Art Gallery in Fitchburg, MA and Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville. Be well everyone!

Colorful 2020

Happy New Year! About two weeks in and I’m wishing you a colorful 2020. I’m looking forward to experimenting with more materials and mixing it up a bit. Last year was one of changes as I shifted some of my gallery representation. You can now see my work, including my abstract acrylics at Artisans’ Gallery in Waitsfield, ArtHound Gallery in Essex and a soon to be refurbished and sparkling Frog Hollow on Church Street in Burlington. Boulder Gallery in Fitchburg Mass. continues to show my prints. Plus I’m thinking of doing some direct selling and offering some specials here on my blog and on Instagram...so stay tuned!
