New website…

Why did the chickens cross the road? To get to the new website! I have an announcement…I have a new website going live later this week! This was long overdue as my old website was not functioning properly and wasn’t updated often enough to be secure. Some of you have sent me messages telling me you’ve encountered issues in the past. So….a new site and a new blog were in order. Going forward I will be blogging through my new site and sending out a newsletter periodically to let you know what’s new. And if things go according to plan I will migrate all you faithful subscribers along with me. I believe the option to unsubscribe remains…but I hope you continue to follow along with my artistic journey. Let’s hope there aren’t too many glitches!  See you on a new platform!

Illustrated technology

I’m learning how to incorporate my watercolors and digital work together...I painted this hen with her colorful eggs several years ago..but decided to make it into an illustrated recipe for the “They Draw and Cook” website...the white eggs were added in procreate, as was the background to blend with the foreground. Then the text was also added digitally... click this LINK to check out my other illustrated recipes. Happy Easter to those who celebrate 🐣

Digital poppies

Is it spring, yet? Well...not here in Vermont...but today it is above 40 degrees! I’ve been exploring my iPad and digital painting a bit more and having fun trying out all the “brushes “ & “textures” that come with the procreate app. Just like learning how to manipulate oils, watercolors or any other media this digital painting is in a category all its own!

New Year, new medium

Well...it’s been a while since I’ve posted and showed you any art...shame on me! It’s not that I haven’t been creating...it’s just that the blogging has slipped out of focus, since I post more on Instagram...but I really do appreciate all who continue to follow me right here on my blog! I hope this finds you well and weathering our uncertain and tumultuous world. I’ve relied on comfort foods and soul soothing tea-time and learning procreate on the iPad. Digital media is a whole new world...these illustrations were done that way. I’m certainly not abandoning traditional media, but I am enjoying this new way of being creative.
