knife and orange, take two

Another teeny still life..the size of this one is approximately
3"x5". They are great practice. Divide your full or half sheet
of watercolor paper with masking tape and just paint a bunch
of these using different color combos and slightly different
views or angles. Use different sized brushes, new to you pigments
and a "loose" attitude. Just for fun.

  1. These are so much fun to do. I used to trade collage ATC's but that was taking me away from my first love... watercolor. so I started to do them in watercolor. great way to put paint to paper without any stress. 3x5 sounds like a good size too

  2. I love the complementary color scheme! Blue and orange are an effective combination!

  3. Great idea, Annelein--and it came to me at just the right time: I don't know what to paint!
Love the orange/turquoise pairing here, and your crackling whites!

  5. I saw Laura's take on this kind of exercise, too--hers are lovely as well. Great idea. Wish I had some time to try it. I'll have to do so when I get a chance. I love your close crop here in this one.

  6. Lovely little cutie here. Lots of fun and I usually try to use colors that I don´t often use. I use them on greeting cards later.
