I always paint the comb first and then the wattle,
leaving the eye to almost two thirds of the way through
the painting. Once the eye gets painted their personality
starts to comes through! That's when they really give you
their stare-down, or curious quirky look as if to say:
"Why you lookin' at me?"
Another favorite!
ReplyDeleteFabulous!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love your chickens. I think I'll go out this morning and get some Silkys... Lovely painting Annelein.
ReplyDeleteGreat painting Annelein, this would be awesome on a big canvas - what size was this one? I grew up on an organic farm and the stare down by the chickens can sure be unnerving. : )
ReplyDeleteAnother great chicken painting. Love how he is leaning. It leads you right in.
