color choices

"Floribunda" 22"x30"
This painting looks like I used every single color on my
palette to create it! I have a palette that can hold 32
pigments, but I've seen some lovely work done with just
a limited number of colors. Sometimes less is more and
other times more is more!

  1. Wow--some great color in it, too! Lovely, as always, Annelein. I agree--sometimes less is more, and sometimes more is just more! Good point.

  2. Annelein, I'm loving this, but I'm curious to know why I think I see another image just below, or is it above.? Hmmmm! Of course I've seen it before so finally asking you.

  3. Came to you via Deb Ward and had quite a thrill to see your latest floral post as it reminded me so of my favourite interior/floral artist Shirley Trevena. Wonderful busy composition and delightful colours. Enjoyed a quick flight through your earlier posts. Watercolours is now added to my favourites.

  4. I love this piece!! I just took a Gerald Brommer workshop and Jerry subscribes to the "less is boring" camp. He would approve.

  5. Sometimes the painting just calls for more colors - don't you think? this one is beautifully done!
