Lilacs of spring past

AAAAHHHH, lilacs in the spring...right now all that's left in the house are a few lonely paperwhites that I cut from the bulbs and put in a vase and a half-gone amaryllis. The tree has been dismantled, so it's time to go out and find something bright and beautiful to spruce up the place. Tulips seem to find their way into the stores earlier and earlier each year, so maybe I'll go and find a mixed bouquet.

Oh, love the photo here of these! Beautiful! We had some pretty red tulips--not very large flowers, but pretty, about a week ago. VERY early. I hope my bulbs I planted make it in this cold.

Lovely, lovely, lovely! I love lilacs - they show up here just when I think I'm going to starve if I don't see a flower soon!
I've noticed that our turkeys have discovered that the buds are on the bushes now (over the winter) and am wondering if I'm even going to have them next Spring! Probably won't on any of the lower branches! :)

nothing better than the smell of a lilac - I do miss them, they don't grow in FL. Nice work.

Oh but those lilacs are so gorgeous; both the real ones and the ones in the sketch book. I am so impressed with your sketchbook rendering!

Yes, good old tulips...I could look at them all year round..but as of yesterday...VALENTINES everywhere...they don´t waste any time nowadays do they?? I have two big lilac bushes and always get excited when I see them starting to bud.
