15"x22"
This is one of my new paintings that is at my show at Frog Hollow State Craft Center, Church Street, Burlington, VT...show opening reception tonight...5-8 p.m. In Gallery demo tomorrow 1-3 p.m. (I've had some comments about where the show is going to be...so hopefully this clears it up.) I did this painting from a photograph and love the jumble of blossoms and unopened buds and the few negative buds in the upper left corner. I used some new to me pigments...cobalt turquoise, green gold and shadow green.
Oooooh--really nice, Annelein! Beautiful.
ReplyDeletelovely piece....... and I like those new colors too.
ReplyDeleteAnnelein your work is just amazing. I love the colors, the clarity and just everything about it. I am working on improving my watercolor skills, so, you are an inspiration.

ReplyDeleteThe watercolors are clean, cheerful and stimulating.
Beautiful! and skillfully rendered. Hope you have (had) a wonderful reception.
ReplyDeleteLove the painting; the cobalt turquoise really sets off the orchids. What brand are the paints? I use Daniel Smith almost exclusively and love his Rich Green Gold. Best of luck on your show.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Soft, colourful and captivating.
ReplyDeleteVery nice watercolor!!
ReplyDeleteAnnelein, this is just stunning!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! Mostly my pigments are Holbein and sometimes I dig around my bin and pull out Winsor Newton, DaVinci, M. Graham, Sennelier etc...I've also used Daniel Smith and really love those colors as well...
ReplyDeleteI love what you have done in the background --its so unique and pulls the flowers out!
