"Waddle"

This lovely lady was a joy to paint. I underpainted the shadow side with a wash of cerulean, which I rarely if ever do...so that's something new for me and I think I learned something...hmmm then the darker colors of the hen are actually sepia and a dioxazine violet that I let mingle on the paper. She's so deliciously plump!

Oh, she's classic! Hahaaa--love it. The cerulean underpainting is luscious--really gives it a wonderful look.

...I grew up with chickens walking all over our back yard - more so in the fall when the garden was pretty much "finished". You captured the movement perfectly. the colors on her breast are stunning - the background is perfect. Makes me think you have chickens of your own to study from. The peonies below are luscious too.
