"Below the Surface"

Now here's something waaaaaayyyyyy different for me...a little abstraction. Hmmm how do I feel about this? Well, let me know what you think... I do know that I had a great time painting this...it's so un-restrained and it's kind of nice to paint something that doesn't have to look like something for a change! This piece is in a VT Watercolor Society group show at the Helen Day Art Center in Stowe. The opening reception is tonight, but I can not attend unfortunately...

  1. Sinceramente la prima impressione è stata di un lavoro molto interessante, senz'altro impegnativo da realizzare, nuovo si ma che contiene i tuoi colori, la tua particolare sensibilità.
Merita, secondo me, di non rimanere solo!
    Complimenti e buona serata.

  3. I'm not a big fan of abstract art, in fact you could say
I don't care for it at all. But you've changed my mind with this piece. I love it! It seems to draw me right into the painting and the colors are divine. It's just beautiful!

  5. Annelein, you never cease to amaze me with your versatility. This piece is wonderful and I can tell it's a Beukenkamp with the layering and color choices. You just proved that to make good abstract art one must follow basic design principles. I love it!!

  14. Annelein....I love the colors and how you blended them. I also like how some of the colors dripped down. There's definitely movement in this piece. I'm like you....I don't paint much abstract art, but I see your point of not having to make it look like something.
