I'm playing with portraits...it's tricky...unlike flowers, eyes, noses and mouths need to be in their proper places...you can fudge a bit with blossoms and greenery...not so with a person's defining characteristics! Unless you wish to paint like Picasso and re-assemble facial layouts! I'm going to start a new blogging schedule and post Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays...this will force me out from behind the computer and spend more time in the studio! I hope you'll still follow along.
I think it's great that your getting out of your comfort zone and pushing yourself. Portraits are a whole other animal. Good luck on your new blogging schedule, I'm contemplating the same.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Annelein. I totally understand the need to pry oneself away from the blogs and get some painting time. Lately I've been visiting blogs briefly each day but only posting myself two or three time a week, too. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI too have to limit the amount of time on the computer. It's amazing how much time it can eat up!! Nice painting too! Can't wait to see more portraits!
ReplyDeleteI really love the colors in this one
ReplyDeleteYou will notice that I too am playing with portraits! And I mention Picasso on my blog today! Hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteI can almost see her real and in person. Does she have freckles? A lovely portrait, Annelein!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful work! And I agree, it's too easy to spend more time looking at other art blogs than working on the art for our own isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI actually find it far easier to keep up with blogs that post once or twice a week than those who post more, otherwise I find I have missed so many posts! So, I am glad you will post less often because I won't miss any! :0)
I need to spend more time practising portraits too ..... will be looking out on those days for your new schedule! Although I should be in front of my watercolour paper with brush in hand! I too get sidetracked and tend to spend too much time looking and responding! Love that portrait Annelein!
