This piece is 8"x8" done from a photo that I've wanted to paint for years now...this was a first attempt, done with just two colors...burnt sienna and ultramarine blue. I was trying for several values. I don't know if you can tell what it is supposed to be...
OK, challenge accepted! When I first clicked on your log page, I could only see the top half or less of the picture and I thought "church?" I had the impression of gothic arches, barrel vaulting, stone and light playing through upper, side windows. When I scrolled down I was a little confused, still thought it was the same thing, but unfinished. Isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI just peeked again, and I still get that impression, a collonade on the right, light coming in perhaps from above further down the way. Atmosphere.
Looks like a room or hallway that's domed. Can't wait to see the final work!
ReplyDeleteI think it is lovely and your use of two colors is just perfection!
ReplyDeleteJe propose : vue de l'intérieur d'une cavité rocheuse , Petra peut-être ? Très beau en tout cas.
ReplyDeleteA crypt? That would be creepy and fun.
