This should have been yesterday's post...in 1492 Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue... Hope you all had a nice day..thanks also for all the recent comments...This piece was done from a photograph and I really pushed the dark trees and lively shadows in the foreground. If you look closer the darks are made up of various colors...this adds interest and avoids a dull solid color dark.
Love this!! I think my favorite part is the way you did the leaves on the trees.. loose and wonderful.. Diana
I have added your blog to my blog list. I hope you don't mind, look at mine at www.dianamdaviswatercolor.blogspot.com and check mine out.. I'd love it if you would add my blog to your list. thanks, take care, Diana
Annelein Congratulations, beautiful watercolor, I can only imagine the colors you may have seen Columbus on his arrival on the coast Dominican!
Very nice, Annelien. Hope your Columbus Day was full of wondrous discoveries......
I just adore the way you paint - so much light! And you still have wonderful darks. And the colors you choose are so vibrant.
Good watercolour, with great atmosphere and deepness feeling. Congratulations
It's so good! like the pink of the sky reflected in the water and the shadows of the tree branches too, the leaves - everything!
