Iris love

Happy Valentine's Day! A little flower for you all...Irises are probably one of my favorite blooms...I've painted them lots of different ways using a variety of pigments. Close ups, big bouquets, groupings in the garden, still lifes etc..etc..This painting is a detail from a larger (unfinished) piece.

I adore the dark background and love the way the Iris flows. I've just discovered your blog, so know I am in for a treat reading your past (and future) posts.

There is such a freshness and transparency in your work. Do you have a favorite brand of paint you use?
I would love it if you would tell the size of he painting when you post it.

Such beautiful colours you have used here. A really pretty painting! I love the little spatters of paint across the petals :0)
