Mixed media has been my path lately...I've been using some Stabilo Tone pencils and watersoluble pencils, plus some prismacolor pencils over my initial watercolor painting. This one also happens to have some permanent fine tipped black marker. Explorations and discoveries...

What a great idea. I do love my washes of watercolor and then I do love my pencil and ink marks so why not combine the two. I might just have to try this. Thanks for the ideas and this is an awesome rooster.

I am doing much the same with adapting mixed media to watercolors. It feels earthy and sensible to collage and paint together. This avain art is fantastic.
Hi Annelein, he looks like he means business........... wonderful mixed media piece.
What a beauty!!
Love your paintings...but one suggestion. Could you upload a larger photo so when we click to see larger we can see more detail? That would be great. Thanks!
It's looking good Annelein - the mixed media approach really suits the subject.

You certainly captured a handsome dude in mixed media. Loving your new work. "Sweet Wheels" is especially fun.
Congratulations on making Donna Zagotta's list of blogs to watch in 2011. Much deserved!
