Resting

Since Blogger was down at the end of last week I couldn't post on Friday! Sorry about that...but I guess computer blog programs need a day off once in a while too... This piece is heavy on the middle values with subtle shifts in color...The fabric folds are my favorite..in both the jeans and shirt. Thanks for all your comments...it's awesome to hear from you!

I think this is very well done. I also like the folds in the clothes, but I like the way a simple suggestion of a face works so well :0)

Wonderful portrait! I love your watercolor technique and I'm in awe of your fabric folds among many other things in this.

Very nice painting. I am taking watercolor classes and learning a lot about value, but forget to use what I learn when I paint sometimes. LOL I think everyone got in late for Paint Party Friday, but glad y ou made it.

Wonderful piece, Annelein. Looks like the old man is taking a well deserved rest.

Annelein's been fooling us all these years. Gorgeous watercolor flowers and then all of a sudden? Portraits, people, gestures, folds in fabric. Incredible! Love the people paintings.
