Just one brush

This piece is 15"x22"...I have yet to tackle a full sheet wc of a figure/portrait. Seems like a lot of paper to fill up. I'm setting the goal to try it sometime. Are bigger brushes the solution? Maybe. I love round brushes..usually size 12 or 14 and will use just one brush to complete a whole piece.

love your newly found portrait work..but i have the feeling you've been doing this a long time or it wouldn't be so wonderful. Looking at this painting I only see the white frame of the eyeglasses for quite some time...and also wondering what would happen if you cropped some of the paper on the right hand side. Looking forward to your teaching techniques in California in October!! Whoopee!

Hello Annelein:) A wonderful portrait again! Why is your disire to fill up the whole paper? A teacher once said to me: it's a challenge to leave some white in a watercolor painting! I like it very much as it is now!

really nice. I love the way you apply the paint.

I always am just truly blown away by what you do with watercolors, Annelein. Her hair is particularly magnificent...just a magical style all your own.
