Red Tulips

This painting was done in anticipation of my tiptoe thru the tulips workshop last month. We've had a bouquet of tulips somewhere in the house for a while now. For under $10.00 it's a nice treat and burst of color for close to two weeks...I love the way they start to droop and actually continue to grow in the vase once you arrange them.

Bellissimi Annelein, sia la composizione che il gioco di colori. I rossi dei tulipani sono splendidi, un inno di gioia che riscalda il cuore. Ciao. Luigi.

Gorgeous, Annelein! Your work is always outstanding and this is no exception. I think this would be a beautiful print too!

Hello, your flowers are breath taking. being new to this and teaching myself is there any info you can give me to succeed in paiting these wonderful flowers?
Do you have a dvd or book to learn from. It makes me sad when you find someone you want to learn from but there so far away.
If i could I'd be in one of your classes for sure.Have a great day and thank-you,
Linda

Thanks everyone...Linda, I do have a book that I published through Blurb myself, but it's not an instructional book...just alot of my flower paintings with some color descriptions. DVD is not on the horizon as of yet...my best advice is to find someone close to you who's work you like and if they offer workshops, take one... or read alot of books by painters you admire and ofcourse the old adage...practice, practice, practice. Work on good quality paper with good quality pigments and you'll save yourself alot of frustration. Well you'll have some of that anyway...Good luck! Enjoy the ride!
