Harvest of Sun

"Harvest of Sun" 15" x 11"
This painting is one of five currently on display
at the Round Barn Show in Waitsfield. The opening
was last night and it was a great party. This week will
be yellow week...and maybe a double whammy of all
sunflowers? The chill is creeping up towards New England
and Fall has descended upon us...literally! So happy first
day of Fall. We are supposedly in for a b-e-a-utiful week.

My daily visit to your Blog. I love YELLOW and it's my second best color. So again, I'll check your Blog daily. The colors you have chosen for these beautiful Queens, make them look illegal to pick ! The Sunflower was the very first flower in water color I painted with one of the Barbara's.

Annelein, I just found your blog the other day and really love your watercolors. I also paint with watercolors and have a technique question for you if you don't mind. For your light areas (ex. the sunflower petals and poppy stems and leaves)do you use a negative painting technique or masking fluid on the light areas when painting the darker areas?

I'm looking forward to seeing more yellow paintings. :)
