Pansies

We are all familiar with this sight..right now the stores are
stocking all the early spring flowers. Pansies are hardy
here and can already be put out. I simply can not refuse
their delicate, colorful faces and just the other day bought
two six packs of yellow and purple pansies. Our planters
aren't out of storage yet and I'm buying plants...oh well.

How pretty! Our pansies bloom all winter here in NC--and I love that they do--I snip them and bring them in for the tiniest vases to keep color on the table all through those gray winter months. This painting is just lovely, Annelein!

I wish negative painting was as uncontrived and simple as you make it look! This is an exquisite little painting.

I like the harmony of your color choice and that you used muted colors which makes the painting glow.

I ran into Dayna Talbot at the market today and was reminded of all the wonderful folks I met in March at the PCA through Carol's workshop.

I hope you haven't given up oils (I loved the cupcake that you did) but I do admit that your watercolors are really fantastic!

Well, you're an optimist and pansies are the optimistic prelude to Spring. I can't resist them either and have to buy too many plants to get all the wonderful colors.
Your work is very strong and I like your loose approach with watercolor.
