Quebec City sunset

This is a sketch from my travel journal of
the view from our hotel room of Quebec City's
skyline at sunset. It always amazes me at how
relatively fast you can capture an impression
of your environment. Unfortunately taking the
time to just do it is what takes up the most time
and keeps you from spending the time! Do you
know what I mean?

Yes taking that time is the hurdle I have most of the time and I'm constantly regretting as I look back on some spots I went to "why didn't I" but that's life sometimes. So I try to take pictures in hope I will draw or paint from them. Your sketch is beautiful I would love to see a few more like this.

So, so beautiful, Annelein ... I love all the versions of gray and how they go in and out of purer colors, esp. in the towers and the sky! I really love this one!

Have been meaning to say, too, how much I love the slideshow of your figure work in the sidebar!!
My figure class (after only 2 sessions!) is recessed for summer--bummer!

I love this sketch! And I loved Quebec City too. Makes me want to return ASAP. I'm glad you took the time to do it.
