Take two...

Well...I got some comments about bravery with colors and it's not as easy as just talking about it. I really forced myself yesterday to explore some new pigments, but lo and behold...I was dipping my brush right back in the familiar colors... AAARRGGH! Maybe it's time to get a fresh palette and just squeeze out the new colors and put a lid on the old one! The painting above is from a long time ago and was from a "daring color" session and just leaving strokes unfinished and pigments bright and bold. I'll try again today...

I don't know, Annelein...I think your palette is fine. We are all drawn to certain colors, aren't we? I think you use a nice variety of colors and see nothing wrong with them. All of your pieces are truly beautiful! This one? I want this in a vase on my table!

This piece has great color...I like it. As far as using different or new or unusual colors,,,,the story of my painting life,,,I really do try to spice things up and I really had to end up removing some in order to stick with something new or daring. Worked for me.........

E' davvero strano come siamo fatti!
