Blue Blooms

A slightly abstracted look at a field of Irises. Trying to use some gimmicks and tricks like bubble wrap pushed into the wet paint. You can see it in the olive green circles on the left...If you don't try the different techniques you never know how they work...and if you want to keep using them or not...(22"x25")

Dear Annelein,
Wow..., so beautiful and interesting techniques!! Yes, my mentor said exactly the same say you made today. Like you, I want to challenge new techniques. An "experiment" turns into be the precious "experience."
Kind regards,
Sadami

Wonderfully done, Annelein. Isn't experimenting fun. I just finished my first impressionistic piece. I usually paint contemporary realism. Hope you'll stop by for a peek and let me know what you think.

I like those overlapping washes..and that was an interesting experiment-the bubble wrap!It makes the painting more interesting.
