"Building Blocks" 22" x 15"
This is my contribution this week to the Different Strokes blog. Interesting assignment. I wanted to try my hand at doing the painting on a large sheet of paper, instead of doing the dsfdf work in my sketchbook or journal. I also allowed myself some other materials...I used watersoluble crayons from Stabilo. They are these stubby crayons that are really rich in color and you can wash them out with a wet brush. I also used regular prismacolor pencils in a couple different places. All in all a good time to experiment.

I love how this came out!
I like the richness it has. Nice job
Great color choices, and thanks for sharing your mixed media approach.
This is interesting. I like to use the watersoluble crayons too.
Excellent! This has such a strong sense of place. Very nice!!!
This is a beautiful piece. I'm always intimidated by watercolor, because it seems so unforgiving, but you obviously have a relationship with it!
Wonderful painting! The composition and color strategy are terrific.
Thank you all! The DSFDF entries always evoke so many comments. I love viewing what everyone else has done as well. I find myself eagerly awaiting the next "assignment".
